5 stars I have several albums of Holdsworth ranging from the early 80's to now. I can see that his melodic bliss and his progressions have not changed much over his long career. I will say this though, the feel and passion that he portrays in this album is probably his greatest he has ever done. When I think of Allan, I usually think of a drunken alien that does not know where to land his space ship. Sixteen Men of Tain is a little different. I get the impression that he is now a depressed drunken alien that wrecked his ship.

So I have to say I love this album. It is one of his best albums. But I should warn everyone, don't pick this album up first. You have to get his best album and that is Metal Fatigue.
