3 stars Curtis Knight's last recording was made with Jan Akkerman on guitar, former Akkerman-bassist Dino Walcott, Keith Dunn on harmonica, Larry Widrice on drums and Sam Mitchell on dobro and slide guitar. I know it's a hard to get-cd in the U.S.A. and Canada but for Akkerman you don't have to buy it specially. He isn't our best blues-guitarist; Eelco Gelling (former Cuby & the Blizzards) and Anne Geert Bonder (Flavium) are better. Jan's style of playing isn't much different as the well known jazz-rock/fusion recordings. The first song, Flat Back Sue, is without Akkerman; but still a great track. There's nothing wrong with the songs on the album; good old blues(rock) with sometimes a little soul. Especially Sam Mitchell is very good, as you can hear on the covers Little Wing and Cross Road Blues.
