5 stars Review #162!

Herman Szobel made something masterful. Yes, only one thing ever, but that's alright. What he had made was one of the best Avant-Fusion recordings you will ever hear come out of Europe. This album and Herman's story as a whole is wildly overlooked and should be treasured. He started in Austria, then moved to New York in 1974 to hit it big. He formed a great band, and by 1976, he had made this masterpiece of an album, at only 18. He toured a bit, but had a fallout with management, and since then, had taken a leap outside of the musical world, and had faded into all-emcompassing obscurity by 1980. But the album and the career he left behind justifies the end product. If I didn't say it enough already, Herman's Szobel's one and only album is a masterpiece. Truly! It's bombastic, it's spastic, and most importantly, it's fantastic. Every track will leave you in an awe that only music like Szobel's can. This album is a wild ride, from the insanely groovy beginning to the experimental, moving end. Prog on!
