4 stars Steve's Album Of The Day : "Flower Power" by The Flower Kings. I discovered these Swedish proggers about 10 years ago, and they have always proved to be an interesting listen. Emulating Genesis, Yes, and perhaps even Frank Zappa blended with a bit of modern Jazz fusion, they sound both familiar and fresh. This double CD from 1999 was a step beyond their previous releases, and centers on the 59 minute epic " Garden of Dreams". With over 140 minutes of music spread over the two CDs, it's a lot to digest, and does seem to lose a bit of focus at times, but I've found that if you take each track individually they do stand up better. All in all it's become one of my favourite Flower King's recordings.

Highlights : "Garden Of Dreams", "Deaf, Numb, & Blind", "Magic Pie", "Calling Home"
