The debut album from this project from Fabio Zuffanti is very ambitious to say at least. The forty one minutes long Hostsonaten is the main piece of music here. But they also crams in some other pieces of music on this well over one hour long album.

The music here is pretty pastorial with plenty of different instruments. From sax, via flute to minimoog, synths, mellotron, various guitars, bass, drums and even some vocals. The sound is also a mix of RPI, English and Scandinavian symphonic prog. Hence, the sound is excellent.

Quality wise, not everything is great though. Some absolute excellent melody lines in Hostsonaten is intertwined with some pretty dull pieces of music. Most of the the final song The Rime of the Ancient Mariner part I also falls a bit flat on it's face. Despite of these gripes, this album is a very enjoyable album which I guess may grow on the listener over a long period of time. But after my customary ten listening sessions, I am not convinced that this album is a great album. I therefore lands on something between good and great. But this album has at least gotten me interested in this band.
