3 stars This only Udus album has some similarities with Black Engine's the only release (up to time). Both albums are released in 2007, and both are based on Zu sax player Luca Mai ecstatic sax work.

Main difference between both projects/albums is line-ups. If Black Engine is nothing but Zu plus guest guitarist, Udus is just Zu sax player Luca Mai plus Italian hardcore-punk scene's drummer and guitarist.

Musical differences between two releases are exactly what you can expect from line-up differences. If Black Engine is full bodied deep sound of Zu, filled with baritone sax soloings and metal guitar added, Udus music is more minimalist punk-core scratching guitars, dirty sound in a moments and more "indie" aesthetics.

Really interesting release for Zu/Italian avant prog scene fans. I still prefer Black Engine's music of two. Album's rating - 3+.
