2 stars The third and final solo album by Davorin Popović (he sadly passed away in 2001) was recorded in Zagreb during November 1995, after he represented Bosnia/Herzegovina at the Eurosong contest in Dublin. That song - "Dvadeset i prvi vijek" (En. "The Twenty-First Century") - a nice pop hit with slight smooth-jazz piano hints is by far the best song here.

Oddly enough, the album title is, for some mysterious reasons, exactly the same as the title of his previous LP from 1984. Apart from newly recorded title track and "Mojoj jedinoj ljubavi" (En. "To My Only Love") - two mediocre love ballads, all other songs have nothing to do with the previous work. Again, we have INDEXI as the backing session musicians but most of the songs were written by outside associates, professional songwriters and producers. Renowned orchestra conductor, composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Stipica Kalogjera was chosen to produce this CD, which contributed to its highly polished, cheesy and sophisticated orchestral and vocal (I would say, "middle-aged") pop music. Another fine pop tune - "Raspored zvijezda" (En. "Disposition of Stars") - reminds me of a disastrous Sarajevo under-siege year 1993 when it was recorded and it still holds some emotional value.

But, this I cannot say for the remaining material; it bears little of those old INDEXI and Davor's power that marked his debut LP "Svaka je ljubav...". This CD is only for the die-hard fans of Davor.
