3 stars This one is even better than the first, but my rating doesn't change. This compilation is so cheap they couldn't even afford the letter "a" apparently. Compared to the father this has more studio versions and less well known songs. The only song here from the YCDOSA series is "The Idiot Bastard Son". This was performed by the Roxy line-up and taken from Vol. 2 which most consider the best of the six. There is a great version of "Sinister Footwear 2nd Mvt." performed by the 1988 band. "Love Of My Life" was originally on the Cruising With Reuben... album but this version comes from Tinseltown Rebellion. Bob Harris does a falsetto vocal here and holds down a note for about 15 seconds to which the audience applauds.

"Ya Hozna" is one of Zappa's more interesting '80s songs. A repetitive hard rock riff is the basis for the song. But it has vocal samples taken from various former members of Zappa's bands(and even his daughter Moon). They are all played backwards; this was Zappa poking fun at the "satanic backmasking" hysteria of the 1980s. "It Just Might Be A One-Shot Deal" is one of the better songs off the underated Waka/Jawaka album.

"Night School" is a great instrumental off Jazz From Hell performed entirely on the Synclavier. "What's New In Baltimore?" is probably the best song from Meets The Mothers Of Prevention. As with the other cheap set the songs are all nicely segued together. This is a great place to get some of Zappa's lesser known but still great songs. 3 stars.
