3 stars Reflections..... reflections over what ?

The fifth album by this Dutch neo-prog band feels like the band is looking back and is reflecting on their own career and previous four albums. Reflections can also mean stagnation and that is what this album is.

Stagnation does not have to be a bad thing though. This album is a good neo prog album with plenty of rousing, great melody lines and good musicianship. The keyboards are as always great on an Us album. The songs are overall good. Both the sound and the mix is the usual Us fare.

What this album lacks is energy and any really great songs. It is just passing over nicely, thank you. It is like a train journey without any great landscapes. This album is nice to the ear, but does not really engage the brain that much. But it is a solid neo-prog album from a sadly underrated neo-prog band. Good but not great, is what Reflections is.
