Etherea like
2 stars Conquest is not aptly titled and represents the nadir of a once great psychedelic infused Hard rock-Prog band. Many of the failings of this album can be levelled at the new singer John Sloman who has an irritating tendency to to over-sing every line- leaving the once melodic Heep at a musical impasse of sorts.

The songs are ok but far from memorable, the musicianship is serviceable but there is nothing to be made of this approach apart from the fact that the band sound like they are cashing in on the Toto/Foreigner/Boston formula for success- the songs however like 'Feelings' pale in comparison to the slick, well-honed approach of the aforementioned bands.
