I appreciated a lot the album "The Sirius Mystery" by Open The Paintbox. The interplay between guitars and keys is mesmerizing: cinematic, spacious, sometimes meditative, sometimes urgent. There is a sort of mathematical beauty in the structure, but also a raw emotional thread running through it all. This is definitely not background music: it demands attention and invites interpretation and introspection to catch the concept of the work and appreciate all the little gems here and there in the tracks. In summary, listening to it is deeply rewarding, since the sound and the atmospheres bring freshness and sincerity into the prog scene. I definitely recommend this work.
