3 stars Strongly influenced by the oppressive martial feel of Zeuhl, as well as the symphonic style of RPI, but there is also a very gothic and cathedral-setting feel to the album right from the start. It begins with a choral piece for a couple of minutes, followed by a buzz of recitations that sounds more like summoning a devil than reading a prayer, setting the tone of the whole album.

The first track fades into ambient sound, but you're immediately jolted awake by the intimidating guitar riff of the second track Sacro Re before it descends into a martial marching beat which is only broken up by some operatic vocals in the middle. A great Italian Zeuhl mix. This is a style that features throughout the album really. Pardes has a sort of late King Crimson feel to it, and there is a spacey passage to Iperborea, but otherwise they're much the same. The lengthy final track is a little bit too stop-start to be of much note.
