3 stars 3.5 stars. Eric Malmberg is a Swedish organist who not only had a solo career but he was part of the duo SAGOR & SWING a drum/organ affair. He was a busy guy in the late 90's and well into the 00's with these projects. Eric was a huge Bo Hansson fan and he really sort of followed the same path as Bo.

Hansson was part of HANSSON & KARLSSON a drum/organ affair(lol) which was quite successful in the second half of the 60's. But when Karlsson became a comedian and TV personality, Bo went solo releasing his classic debut "Lord Of The Rings" in 1970. Bo was all about the hammond organ and so is Eric. In fact Bo gave Eric the organ he used on that "Lord Of The Rings" album. Which is pretty crazy.

This particular Malmberg record was released in 2005 and features eight tracks worth about 40 minutes. A lot of these songs blend into the next so it doesn't feel like there is that many tunes on here. Mostly organ driven but lots of electronics as well. It sounds like real percussion at one point too. This is a melancholic album and uniform in sound. The album's title in English means "The Enigmatic Human". A lot of trippy music really and all instrumental. It did grow on me with the closer finally being the one track I looked forward to. This just isn't a 4 star record in my world though.
