3 stars A drastic change over the two first albums of the band, and not necessarily for the best. Crane has clearly changed his working ways, as his always freakish approach to music changes here. This is no longer hard rock, but mostly mixes of funk blues, and still some old rock. One thing does not change, though, as the lyrics are still true to the hard rock clichťs of the time. I see this album as a transitional one, as the passage from hard to melodic is seen here, and it is not always withou effort that we can see it. No bassist, as on the last album, death walks behind you. Where it worked on the last one, here the music would need a bit more structure. Quite good, but definitely not their best.
