SILENCE

A collection of very melodic and emotional music that suffers, IMHO, from 'old' sounding keyboards and toms--and a bit of a computerized feel/sound to it. I find it difficult for instrumental albums to achieve 'masterpiece' status--especially in the "neo-prog" category. The 'risk' of including vocals makes the musical achievement that much stronger. Plus, this one might just be a bit too neo. Still, it is filled with many excellent moments of engaging and emotive highs. My favorite song is "Flags Without a Heart" with "Chinese Waters" coming in second. A 3.5 star album bumped up for its ability to lift you up and bring you back for more.
