PATAPHISICAL FREAK OUT MU!!

Acid Mothers Temple its a modern psychedelic rock band from Japan,but the word modern doesn't mean that they are a weak band. In this record they are much better than in the debut(wich is a 59 min long noise rock jam with some moments of beatifful space rock).In Pataphisical Freak Out MU!! they divided their music in several songs,long songs,but no 50 minutes space noise jam. The first one Cosmic Audrey/Acid Takion begins as a spoken piece with space effects,gradually some guitar feedback can be heard on the background,and then,the spoken words finishe and Kawabata shows why is the speed guru.Acid Takion begins with feedback that becames a very fast and furios guitar work with a lot of distortion and wah-wah.The druming is very simple,like the bass,put provides a good base for Kawabata and his crazy guitar. White Summer of Love is a nice song with some acoustic guitar and eletronics providing a cosmic background,some voices can be heard,that are very similar to Gong's space whispers,a very relaxing song.Third Eye of the Whole its more guitar oriented,very calm and relaxing too. Golden Bat Blues Dead its a blues,but not a commom blues,a very freak out blues.Very calm in some aspects,because its not as fast and furious as Acid Takion,but still with a very crazy and acid guitar by Kawabata. Mr Hardy Guidey Man its kind of a folk song,with a hurdy-gurdy an some stoned vocals,its a little weak and boring.Magic Aum LSD its another spoken piece with a female voice that lead us to Astrological Overdrive,another relaxing song but very repetive,with some vocals. Rigth About the Rainbow/You're My Only Super Sunshine/Rigth About the Rainbow II starts as a calm and relaxing song,becames a feak out with a lot of noise and noise,that will make you thing "my stereo must be broken!". Blue Velvet Blues is the best song in my opinion,with a very calm and slow,but very fuzzed guitar.This song is relaxing in a strange way. Ok,my final verdict is 4 stars,a very good album,excellent addition to any prog collection,put not a master-piece of prog.But if you dont like psychedelic rock,space rock,noise and" stoned music",run from everthing released by Acid Mothers Temple.
