INTORNO ALLA MIA CATTIVA EDUCAZIONE

Trying to be objective, not too emotional, this album can't be evaluated differently: simply because it has everything in it. Rock -> classical -> jazz, improvisation -> schematic rhythm, voice -> instrumental research (exp. sax) -> solos -> incomings (exp horgan), musicianship -> lyrics. Pieces like "Non Fatemi Caso", "Riflessioni Al Tramonto", "Carta Carbone", "E Oggi", "E Cosi Poco Quel", "Splendida sensazione" are superb in music variety and technicism, while keep focus on some main reference themes (I avoid description of single pieces since I consider it a sterile work).

Unfortunately, as underlined by some other reviewers, music production and studio recording is quite poor, but I (really?!) wonder if this isn't a diffuse problem of 30 years ago (apart from great musicians and groups).

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS.

Some minor italian bands who [un?]fortunately never came to the great public, need the maximum attention. Since (what a pity) many of them made only one album, a right analysis needs transversal knowledge of many of them. Highly recommended, somehow close to ALUSA FALLAX. MAXOPHONE, CAMPO DI MARTE, JUMBO, DE DE LIND, ALPHATAURUS, E.A. POE, NAPOLI CENTRALE, PANNA FREDDA, UOVO DI COLOMBO, BLOCCO MENTALE, THE TRIP.

Other bands of the same level are much more known (apart from BANCO, PFM, and LE ORME), and need less presentation. MUSEO ROSENBACH, AREA, ARTI&MESTIERI, BALLETTO DI BRONZO, OSANNA, QUELLA VECCHIA LOCANDA, SEMIRAMIS.

Reviewers who consider some others bands at the highest rate, thus not making an unforgivable mistake, simply need to know the previous ones! (in some cases it is not a matter of musicianship, but of "cuore"/"heart" expression in music) LOCANDA DELLE FATE, METAMORFOSI, CHERRY FIVE, GIGANTI, DIK-DIK, RACCOMANDATA RICEVUTA DI RITORNO, ACQUA FRAGILE.
