4 stars The problem with getting into Zappa is just where do you start? His vast discography is full of incredible guitar playing and albums that are household names in even the most contemporary of music catalogues. Over-Nite Sensation was the first Zappa album i listened to in full (after 1 or 2 failed attempts at getting through Lumpy Gravy) and it was the best way to finally understand what his music was about, incredible guitar playing mixed with plenty of humour and eclectic music that keeps you interested all the way through.

Vocally is where i always find his albums tough to listen to but on this record it's a rare cringe free experience vocally all through the record making it a perfect first Zappa album, setting up years of exploring Frank Zappa's unique lifelong discography.

I am still very much a Zappa amateur but this is a record i can come back to over and over showcasing music anybody can enjoy without ever getting too serious.
