CLOSE TO THE EDGE

I'm probably like a lot of people, I discovered Yes through this album and haven't stopped listening to them since. CTTE is most definitely their highlight. It is their most complete record. Relayer has The Gates or Delirium and Fragile has Heart of the Sunrise, but CTTE has 3 amazing songs which work perfectly and to produce the epitome of progressive rock music. The musicianship is superb; the drummer Bill Bruford has a natural talent for prog- rock, even though he is primarily a jazz drummer and Steve Howe shows you "howe" a guitar should be player. Overall, if you want to find out about prog-rock and Yes, then CTTE is the album for you. It will make you want to listen to more Yes records, while ultimately being delighted by his sublime songs.
