2 stars "A Gentleman's Excuse Me" has always been my favorite Fish mellow song. Here it is included as a single with "Whiplash" both from his first solo effort, VIGIL IN A WILDERNESS OF MIRRORS from 1990. "A Gentlemen's Excuse Me" is a well know Fish tune that has nice lyrics and melodies. Nice. However, "Whiplash" is a blues number that fails to interest me. I love blues music but only in it's orignal form. This has that hokey feeling to it and includes sound effects of a car crash at the end (whiplash, get it?). 4 stars for the first single but only 1 for the second. 2 1/2 over all stars.
