THE MADCAP LAUGHS

i really love this album. it has always been one of my favorite albums. it has some progressive qaulities and adventorous songs. there are also some solemn, calm, and at times quite silly acoustic songs as well. it has a very psychodelic sound to it and is definitely a unique sound. i have not heard anything like syd barrett. his mental history is very sad and painful. it hurts me to see such a promising artist be torn down because of his drug induced psychosis. i beleive that if you consider progressive rock to be music that stretchs the boundaries of normal rock and go where no musician has gone before (and certainly gone to since) then this is definitely an excelent addition to any progressive rock collection.
