2 stars Well, this is not a bad album but. All the lyrics have been written and produced by Mogol, one of the most prolific "lyrics maker" in the history of the Italian music. Mogol collaborated also with PFM ("Impressioni di settembre") and Le Orme ("L'aurora") among others, but he is actually famous for his collaboration with the singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti. The musicians of Formula 3 collaborated also with Lucio Battisti and there are some covers of Battisti's songs on their previous albums. Alberto Radius, Tony Cicco and Gabriele Lorenzi played in some of Lucio Battisti's albums in the early 70's (along with other prog musician from PFM, Il Volo etc.). Well, to cut it short, sometimes this album "La grande casa" sounds to me like a weak imitation of Lucio Battisti's masterpieces like "Emozioni" or "Il mio canto libero" (amazing albums, but usually not supposed to be prog albums). That said, you can find here a couple of very good songs ("Rapsodia di Radius" and "La grande casa") and the good guitar work of Alberto Radius. Good album, but very far from essential indeed!
