5 stars Three friends is the first Gentle Giant's concept album and is actually a real masterpiece. The first two albums were more classical, the Shulmans and Green getting out of university, but they make their rock side explodes in there.

Prologue begins with intensity and a good guitar riff that brings us into a green world. The vocals are, like usually, exploted in extreme terms, and that's what makes Gentle Giant so special. All over the album, there's a little blues sound, and I personnaly love the guitar solo in Peel The Paint. Really amazing, kind of Jimi Hendrix's prog sound, but so timed and composed.

I think that someone who doesn't know Gentle Giant should begin with that album, because it's more accessible than the others, but it's as good as Free Hand or Power and the Glory.

5 stars, nice job, GG
