5 stars In my opinion, the collaboration between Jon Anderson and Vangelis Papathanassiou produced some of the most inspired music of the late twentieth century. To me, the finest of the four Jon and Vangelis studio albums is Short Stories.

You can imagine tracks such as 'I hear you now' and 'A play within a play' being played in heaven. If God had an ipod, I guarantee he would have these songs on it! This is some of the most sublime music that I have ever heard amongst all of Jon Anderson's and Vangelis' works and I am a big fan of both of them. I first listened to Short Stories back in late '79, when I was just a young boy, and I am still listening to it now. I never tire of it. It is one of my favourite albums of all time. It's an essential part of anybody's music collection and in my mind at least, is a masterpiece of modern music.
