PRESTO

I gave Presto 5 star rating in 2011 and only now returned to back it up with some words. First of all I want to say that these five years have not changed my opinion. The following could have been written in 2011 but today is May 28, 2016. I think that it is the best 80s Rush album. Sound, lyrics, melodies are all top notch. The reasons offered behind low ratings completely escape me. What's wrong with short song format or effective melodies? I have been listening to Presto on and off for 25 years. It never disappoints. I can explain low ratings probably because of the influence of Rush members themselves, who apparently initially showed some criticism towards the album, on the listeners' opinion. But I can actually suggest Presto as an entry point to someone getting into Rush, from which you can move both ways depending on your taste in music. To the future if you prefer modern sound or to the past if you are prog traditionalist kind of guy. Both directions will offer a pleasant journey.
