Possibly Grobschnitt's best album, Solar Music Live is the definitive record of the band's space rock epic - originally unveiled on Ballermann, and expanded greatly over the course of Grobschnitt's gigging career to become the centrepiece of their concerts. Greatly dialling back the abrasive sense of humour showcased on their studio albums, and amping up their Pink Floyd-inspired space rock (with A Saucerful of Secrets and the live disc of Ummagumma being a particular touchstone), Grobschnitt present a fabulous show, replete with pulsing drum rhythms and synthesisers, wailing Gilmour-like guitar, and mysterious recorded voices.
