5 stars With this CD, and the DVD that was released of the same concert (frequently shown oh the HD Palladium network - catch it if you can), Steve Vai cements his position as one of the most spectacular (and fully progressive) guitarists ever. Here he has assembled a highly talented group of musicians (the only one I've heard much from is bassist Bryan Beller, from Mike Keneally's albums) to play his outrageous instrumental prog metal and fusion pieces.

The best part to me is Vai's frequent interplay between his guitar and the dual violinists, Alex DePue and Ann Marie Calhoun. the soaring solos are like nothing you've ever heard before.

I'd say there's not a bad track on the album. 4.5 stars, rounded up.
