1 stars The real trick lies in making it disappear...

This was the first truly low point of Rush's prolific career. Sure there had been hiccups along the way, but each of their twelve previous albums had enough great material to at least merit recommendation to fans. Presto on the other hand is an absolute bore-fest with some truly unforgettable songs. The only stand out track is The Pass, and by stand out I mean "at all worth listening to". It's a brooding, well thought out piece which really deserves a better home.

I guess the only saving grace is a certain level of musical innovation, especially when compared to their other albums of the '80s. But sadly, this intrigue is short-lived and Presto becomes a chore to listen to after only a handful of plays.

The Verdict: Not even magic could save this one.
