ACQUIRING THE TASTE

This is one of those albums that just gets better and better each time I listen to it...I guess that is the case with most very good albums. This one never seems to be as popular as other of Gentle Giant's works, probably due to the amount of synthesizer they use, especially on the opening track, Pantagruel's nativity. It helps in appreciating this song to have a background on Gentle Giant's other music. I am completely in love with the use of the flutes here. Come to think of it, I love flutes in progressive rock in general. Almost all of the great bands in history have incorporated flutes into their music.
