BRAIN SALAD SURGERY

One of the most overrated prog albums ever... Toccata is great, even the 1st and 3rd track are fine, but 30 minutes long Karn Evil 9 is hardly listenable for me, too much cheesy melodies and overall bombastic climax of this track give me a headache. Not so far from the feeling a have when I hear Queen or most of modern prog rock / metal bands like Dream Theater.

This band was on its peak on first two albums (hmm i havent heard Pictures...), they had great raw acoustic sound, after that they went downhill because of making their music too much over-the-top and epic (in the the bad way... the way Queen is epic for example).

I dont care about Benny The Bouncer, they have a track like this on every release except the self-titled debut.
