4 stars NUCLEUS, it's a HARD, DARK and DEEP album I've ever known in the scene of 90's Progressive music. I agree with the comments from many prog reviewer that consider their music as highly influenced by KING CRIMSON. But, indeed, Anekdoten has their own style, and it's unique.

The fisrt time I listened to Anekdoten's music was NUCLEUS album, and I was extremely stunned by their music, by its darkness. I think the band displays the deep and the darkness intentionally. The singer is more than singing, it looks like more as a lamentation and anger expression. Despite the darkness, the music is hard, tough with the use of rough and distorted guitar sound. Mellotron, cello and pupmorgan create the sound of lamentation, the sounds that represent a frustrated feeling. I think you will enjoy listening to this stuff while you are alone in the night or when you are feeling hard, frustrated or any other same feelings :-)

I love this stuff, another style of progressive music, other than I used to know before. I' m now ordering for VEMOD, their 1st album. I think I can enjoy Vemod as same as I enjoy this album.

And I have to say that NUCLEUS is recommended to own....... Good work from this Swedish Band...
