4 stars Symphony X is definately one of the better Prog Metal bands out there, and The Divine Wings of Tragedy is a great album of theirs. Michael Romeo's guitar and Russel Allen's vocals definately stick out as being incredible. The two longer tracks, The Accolade and the title track are definately the highlights for me. The Accolade is a long Prog Metal ballad which sounds awesome, even though it is soft than most Symphony X songs. The Divine Wings of Tragedy is an absolutely epic song, and really captures Symphony X's sound. My only complaint is that the other songs on the album are structured very similarily, but the frantic dueling guitar-keyboard solos make up for it. An awesome album!
