4 stars A good starting point for those wanting to familiarize themselves with one of the wildest krautrock bands to emerge from that scene. Basically, it`s a combined package of Best Of Guru Guru Part One and Guru Guru Part Two. The whole beauty of this compilation is that it traces the work of the group chronologically with at least one song from each album released up to 1981 including the 1978 "live" album. From their drugged out beginnings in 1969 it takes the listener through a journey of musical and personel changes throughout the seventies when the music becamed more streamlined with forays into eastern influenced compositions, pop songs, fusion jazz and the just plain bizarre. Evident throughout this musical trip is the twisted sense of humour of consistent member and drummer Mani Nuemeier. All the styles are very well represented and if there is one Guru Guru album which says it all about the career of this diverse wacked out band this is definitely it. The Beginner`s Guide To Guru Guru!
