3 stars This CD turned up in the mail a few days ago , its been years since I have listened to Atomic Rooster so I was curious to see how I would respond to them after so long. I purchased this CD as a gamble not really knowing any of the songs on it and unfortunately for me the gamble didn`t pay off. This CD has some decent enough moments , the drummer is very accomplished and so are the keyboards (great at times) I think the thing that let "The Devil Hits back" down for me were the songs they selected to put on to it many of them forgettable and only a few with musicality that show cases this talented band (typical best of syndrome) The recording standard is what you would expect from the time period they come from ( I have the remastered version but it is still a little rough in sound) that's nothing compared to the three bonus tracks they give you they sound awful. I`m going to give this CD three stars because I feel Atomic Rooster contributed a great deal to music and this CD is probably great if you are after a rockin type CD rather than a spacey type CD .
