4 stars The Power And The Glory is my favourite Gentle Giant album. I would recommend it as an excellent starting point to explore the band. Most of their albums were of superb quality come to think of it, such as the moodier "Glass House". This one rocks with a bit more energy, although they never really ran short in that department! What a tough job it is describing GG's sound. Many reviewers have pretty much hit the nail on the head. Quirky, catchy, peculiar, crafty and complex are some good adjectives I suppose. Best songs on here are "Proclamation", "Playing The Game" and "The Face". Be sure to play this album as loud as possible!
