3 stars This is definitely not Pendragon's finest hour. 'Kow-Tow' seems to have two dominant thoughts behind the making of: on the one hand a couple of easy listening, poppy tunes that were to be suitable to a huge legion of listeners (Top of the Pops, lads!), on the other hand the really symphonic side of the band, concentrated in the last four songs. And these are very good!! This album contains one of my favorite Pendragon songs, 'The Haunting'. It's slow, it's melodic, it's really haunting. Actually, that song alone justifies the purchase of this album. Once you have it you get other beautiful pieces like the title track and 'Total recall', remarkably enough written by bass player Pete Gee. And for the rest: give it a try and skip them when you don't like them. The three epic songs are more than worth the money!
