4 stars Falling into Infinity isn't Dream Theater's greatest album, and probably arguably thier worst too. But I must say that of the stuff they put out on this album it's still really, really good. It's an album I go to when I feeling for something a little modern but still progressive. It has some really good and even classic tunes like "New Millenium", "Peruvian Skies", "Hollow Years", and "Trial of Tears". The album can even be considered a little lighter from DT's usual out put of melodic metal, but still it's a great album and worth the buy if you've gotten into DT.

1. New Millenium: more of a futuristic sounding song, John Myung dishes out the nice Chapman Stick. It's a great tune and a highlight to thier album. It's got a great melody with a very interesting rythm. 5/5

2. You Not Me: I don't know if I really care for the song, it really depends on the mood I'm in. Sometimes it can be a great song, and sometimes it can kind of be the wrong thing to listen to at the time. Al together it's a decent song with some interesting melody again and rather angry lyrics. 3/5

3. Peruvian Skies: this song, a progressive genious in itself, has to be one of my favorite song off of the album. It makes the album worth the buy alone. It's got a depressing melody that really wrings out your heart then dishes some fine heavy metal cords as it progresses into the song. It's great, and lovable. 5/5

4. Hollow Years: the album suddenly gets very soft and some-what happy! Hollow Years is what makes it do this. And believe me, DT sure does make a good song with an awsome chorus. Being one of thier more popular songs among the media Hollow Years dishes out some great emotion and really puts a good song in it's spot. 5/5

5. Burning My Soul: once again the album get's exciting with this song. It's a hard one and is really actually a good song that's enjoyable. It does swear after the awsome solo, but it's not too bad to turn down a good song. It's hard and likable all the same. One of the better songs too. 5/5

6. Hell's Kitchen: being an instrumental Dream Theater does what they do best, make instrumentals. True to that is, I'd have to say that as good as this song is I found it to be just a little slow and therefore, I kinda was finding it a little longer than it is. But don't get me wrong, it's still a good song. 4/5

7. Lines in the Sand: probably second my least favorite song on the album, and probably of what dream theater has made. It's an okay song, good melody and has the progression. But for some reason it's like You Not Me, it's all on the mood I'm in. I do like the song because it says "Enlist the den of thieves" which is a cool term that I enjoyed. Listen and see! 3/5

8. Take Away My Pain: a decent part of the album once again. DT puts out a good happy song that's pretty good. I like, and enjoy it, but it just doesn't seem to be their "true" style. It's a good chorus with good lyrics, and a good melody. I like it when I hear it, but it's not a song I always pick when listening. 4/5

9. Just Let Me Breathe: down there with Lines in the Sand, and below. I didn't care for this song that much. For some reason it just didn't stir my likings at all towards it. It's okay, and has it's moments musically, but everything else was preferred for the less. It's exciting yes, and that's a bonus, still I didn't really care for it all that much. 3/5

10. Anna Lee: oh, a soft song for a soft heart! A great tune, soft and enjoyable altogether with a beautiful piano. Anna Lee is a good song to listen to if you want something soft but still progresses. I like it and listen to it often. 4/5

11. Trail of Tears: the final song and the grand finale! it's a great 13 minute song that really places incredible in it's place. If you want some of the more mellow side of dream theater, enjoy this awsome segement! It's got the emotion, the lyrics, the melody, the rythm, it's a classic. 5/5

Al together this album is a good album. It's an excellent addition to your collection. 4/5 stars (4.18). It's not a waste of your money if you've found a great liking into DT. But if your just starting out with dream theater, unless your more into modern main stream music I suggest going for thier more popular album.
