MISSA MERCURIA

Missa Mercuria is a relatively unknown multinational band with one album in their pockets so far. Here featuring some well known and respected musicians from diffrent genres, but they manage to relashionship very well in the end, musicaly speaking. DC Cooper ex Royal Hunt , Silent Force on vocals, Sabine Edelsbacher from Edenbridge same on vocals, David Readman from Pink Cream 69 voice aswell, Andy Kuntz from Vanden Plas vocals helped by his friends also from Vandn Plas Andreas Lill on drums and G'nter Werno keyboards + Stephen Lill on guitars. From Pink Cream 69 are also Dennis Ward on the bass and Alfred Koffler on the guitar. Alex Beyroth also featuring here the guitarist from Silent Force. So, a big line up, but what about the music? Well, this is a progressive metal album with a rock opera feel, musicianship is great and same the sound. Missa Mercuria is very much sounding like I'm combining Vanden Plas with Edenbridge + Royal Hunt. I really like it, some pieces are killer like Whisper of the Soul (Watergoddess) featuring female vocalist Sabine Edelsbacher from Edenbridge, excellent mid tempo piece with some symphonic touches here and there, another highlight is Mother Earth (Earthgoddess), maybe my fav piece from here, featuring Lori Williams, kick ass tune, a piece compose by Pink Cream 69 guitarist Alfred Koffler. So, all in all a great album, quite diverse in copositions, from more up tempo to slow moments this worth to be discovered. Each musician brings great moments and all are very well done. 3.5 stars.
