5 stars Freaky fun! After repeatedly listening to "Song to Comus" on this website I finally got a hold of a copy of First Utterance and Wow... This album is hauntingly unique. I played it in my car with a friend and had to ask him if he was freaked out at all, but he didn't seem too surprised. This album grabbed me by the huevos at times I didn't know if I truly enjoyed it or just couldn't turn it off. As it has settled in and I have listened to it many times now I appreciate it more and more. The structure, the interplay between instruments and the very unique vocal styles amaze me every time, the lyrics are scary and distubing but add to the experience. My favorite track is probably The Herald which contains my favorite guitar work on the album (which is saying a lot since there are so many good guitar parts) also Diana is good and surprisingly a very catchy tune.

Ovarall a very good album but requires a very open mind to obscure styles difficult for even a prog fan IMO. I was definitely not dissapointed in it and a must have for prog-folk or acoustic-prog fan, even though its probably one of the strangest albums I own. Highly Recommended.
