3 stars Dated and rather amateurish.

This album got very high ratings on PA, yet no-one bothered with a review . Being a rather curious minded person, that observation alone has raised my interest.

Now, I could offer a couple of columns, just listing the names of the band members, instruments, year of release, the weather, blah, blah, blah. Just like numerous "reviews" that ignore that all those details - except for the weather - are already in the Bio. (Yes, I believe that you have read the Bio, but so have I. Could we just get to the chase and save "ink" and attention span instead, please?)

But this time I am tempted to do just that myself - if only in order to get up to the 100 words mark. In reality, there is very little I can say about this work in detail.

The effort of the band is respected, but the compositions and the delivery are on the weak, amateurish side. Lead singer Linda Rothwell has a limited vocal range and her voice is not that great, either. The instrumentation is very barefoot and elementary, even cliched by 1970(!) standards. In other words, boring. The reed player/flautist lifts the game a bit, but that's not sufficient to make it a memorable release, or to endure this mediocre work as a whole.

Comparisons with Traffic, or Brian Auger's Oblivion Express would do harm to those bands, so please pretend that I didn't mention them here.

Again, the effort is respected, but it's highly unlikely that I would ever want to hear this album again. 3.5 marks for the effort, 2.5 for the end result.
