1 stars Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Cristiano Roversi became slowly one the leading figures of the recent Italian Prog scene.Hailing from Mantova, he was one of the founders of Neo-Progsters Moongarden, while around mid-90's he was also involved in another band with a similar style, Submarine Silence. In 1998 he even released his debut solo album ''Music from my room's window'', which perfectly describes a personal work that was recorded at Roversi's own home studio and distributed through Mellow Records.

This has nothing to do with Roversi' band works. It's a much more experimental record, something that sounds like an inner trip in the artist's mental taste with the very long three-part opener ''Odissea'' delivered actually through an odyssey of minimalistic sounds, led by noise effects, Chapman stick and limited percussion in a piece that is quite boring to say the least and far from being representative of Roversi's undenied talent.''Blue earth'' sounds like a lighter KING CRIMSON version with distorted guitars and pre-recorded narration, that fails also to catch the listener's attention, and the following ''Doelphins part one'' is pure Experimental/New Age music, consisting of six flat minutes of background instrumental effects. It has to be a cover attempt on PETER GABRIEL's ''Here comes the flood'' that make this album a bit interesting, sung in a similar sensitive way, with nice orchestral strings and piano.''Cosmos part one'' is yet another dissapointment, improvised jazzy guitar music with some percussions and a light amount of energy towards the end.The short ''A Belgian holiday'' is a smooth acoustic piece with calm electric tunes supporting, followed by ''Nightfall'', recorded live at ''Guiness Jam Festival'' in Rivalta during August 98'.New Age/Electronic-like background music with a cosmic feel in the same vein as the previous tracks...overstretched and unimaginative with no signs of passion or diversity.

This album was a huge dissapointment.Anyone expecting something close to Roversi's band efforts should skip by.This is very minimalistic Noise/Music along the lines of more experimental artists. Not recommended, except if you are a fan of spacey, slightly psychedelic and one-dimensional soundscapes.
