3 stars The music on this disc for the most part are songs recorded, written and composed for movie soundtracks. Some tracks were not used in the movie soundtracks they were recorded for, so we have some previously unreleased material. In some of the songs we get to hear parts of the movie in the actual song, usually before the song begins. Some of the songs are taken from movies such as "Crossroads" , "Dudes" , "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" , "Encino Man" and "PCU". This record is almost anti-prog in that there are 40 songs on one disc, and over half of the songs are less than a minute long. Having said that, there are some great moments from Mr.Vai on this compilation. The 3 dimensional album cover is one of the most amazing covers I have ever seen !

The best song may be the first song called "Celluloid Heroes", a cover of THE KINKS song. Steve Vai sings the meaningful lyrics that Ray Davies wrote. The second song was inspired by the book "Interview With The Vampire". The rest of the songs are from the above mentioned movies. There are so many highlights but "Eugene's Trick Bag" is great, and there is a tasteful rendition of "Amazing Grace".

"Final Guitar Solo" is an incredible guitar song. "Dead Heads" is an uplifting tune, while the next song is hilarious called "Blow Me Where the Pampers Is". You can hear a woman ask a student "Do you know where the campus is ?" and he thinks she is saying "Blow me where the pampers is". Haha. You have to hear it to appreciate how funny it is. The final song "Now We Run" just smokes !

If your a Steve Vai fan then this is a must ! There is a lot of material that you wouldn't normally be able to get on another of his albums. It's very entertaining and at times quite funny, and of course there is some amazing shredding going on. 3.5 stars. Good, but not essential to your prog collection.
