2 stars Triology is a 3 Disc box-set release by Romanian experimental black metal act Negura Bunget. The box-set was initially released in 2004 by Bestial Records but re- released on the bandīs own label Negura Music in 2005. The re-release was limited to 1000 copies.

The box set contains the first four releases by Negura Bunget. The debut full-length studio album Zirnindu-sa (1996), the EP Sala Molksa (1998), the From Transilvanian Forest (2000) demo and the second full-length studio album Maiastru Sfetnic (2000). The music on all releases are an experimental form of black metal with tortured raspy/ howling vocals, simple distorted riffing and atmosphere creating and at times epic sounding keyboards. While the quality of the tracks and the sound quality are a problem for me on most of the material in the box-set I greatly enjoy the Maiastru Sfetnic album which show a more mature and darker Negura Bunget compared to the three earlier releases.

A box set like this is mostly for the fans and as itīs only the Maiastru Sfetnic that really makes my blood boil on Triology I can only give a 2 star rating. For those seeking out the early history of the band this is probably perfect though.
