2 stars this is a compilation of twelve (plus two dif mixes) songs from the first five albums of BOC. For those of you who are familiar with their discogrpaphy, you can see that we are talking about the golden era of the band. For those of you who don't know anything about them, this is actually a very good introduction to their music. Which is heavy rock, really intelligent music with excellent guitar work. Melodic, powerful, beautiful. Of course, twelve songs from five albums may not be adequate but they are all great hits, representative of their style. The only think that is inexcusable is that for such great band there is nothing inside the CD case, not even a picture, biography or any other discogrpahy info/trivia. Plus, BOC's 70's albums are all worth buying by any heavy rock fan. So, it would be better that you bought the studio albums instead.

4 stars This album is an excelent introduction to this american band...these old songs are released, and sounds very great...with the best quality production...to me this is a greatest hitis...the best of this album i think is the new release of the song astronomy,i prefer this one than the older one...the solo section of buck is very fast and much better than the old one..this compilation contains the most popular song on the blue oyster cult scene "Dont fear the reaper",also used in the movie of stephen king..called "the stand" also this album contains a instrumental song, bucks boogie...this one is very progressive as well. a lot of changes and with a funky style..and the gozilla mix and dont fear the reaper mix, makes this album only 4 stars...sorry this songs dont like me in nothing..

good CULT CLASSICS....

in fact, the classics of blue oyster cult...

keep on the good way..

3 stars Really? Yet another Best Of collection from BLUE OYSTER CULT Not needed and totally unnecesary as there are about 12 already. Well, this is not a bad collection of BOC tunes from the beginning era of the band on their first 5 albums, I believe. Nothing that is not available elsewhere, but a good selection of some of their best work. "Hits", of course are here, with no real rarities. BLUE OYSTER CULT is one of my favorite bands and I already own most of their work, so I don't really need this album, however I can recommend it to those looking for a good samlpe of their earlier work.
