ROCK AID ARMENIA - THE EARTHQUAKE ALBUM

'Fanfare For The Common Man' by ELP is the only true prog song in this compilation. Then 'Spirit Of The Radio' by Rush is the only other partially Prog song. Also if all of the songs are good, in my opinion. If you love this type of albums this 'The Earthquake Album', produced for Armenian populations hit from the earthquake of December 7, 1988, is for you. Not for me (also if pleased me) because the songs included here are very commercial. Certainly all the involved bands are good or great but this compilation Reflects too the reason for its implementation. It is produced for a general audience and a large consumption. And this is not totally good.

First: This is an album produced for Armenian population hit by heathquake in 1988.

Second: This is an album of Classic Rock, not of Prog, Hard Rock or any other kind of music that can be associated with the music on this album.

Third: If the music is good is only because the artists involved are involved with evergreens and not because the music is good because so good. In fact the new version of "Smoke On The Water" is not good, because not good for sound, arrangement and spirit.

Fourth: "The Earthquake album" is a commercial album, also in relation to its primary purpose. What is the right thing. But it can not be justified since it is trading at this level.

Fifth: Today (2012) who still remembers "The Earthquake Album"?
