5 stars Phish is a brilliant band comprised of 4 extremely talented musicians. During their career they spent almost all of their time touring and most of their efforts went into their live performances rather than their studio albums. This is a band that truly perfected their sound in the live setting. This show is simply a fantastic! Easily one of the their best performances of 1996. The first set includes a crazy 2001 > Llama followed by YEM. Only to close out with a monster DWD>Frankenstein. It was quite obvious that they were not messing around on this night. The second set is again incredible. The band played very tight as usual as well as with a ton of energy. However its the 35 minute encore that I would like to point out. Starting out with the classic always evolving story/song Harpua, Phish eventually brings out Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde of Primus. As the encore progressed the band was accompanied by 4 Elvis impersonators for the suspicious minds cover and 2 yodelers and John McEuen on slide guitar for I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart. There really aren't any downsides with this show except they did not use microphones on the a capella sweet adeline and it was hard to hear. Oh yeah and because it was a soundboard recording done by Paul Languedoc the sound quality could not be better!

This package also comes with a compilation disc of songs recorded on the Winter '96 tour prior to the Dec 6th show. AS WELL AS a limited edition DVD available of a portion of the show. I believe the entire DVD is available on their website.
