3 stars Radiohead lovers, want to watch some videos?

Last week i was told by a friend that Radiohead had released both, a CD and DVD named The Best Of, and he told me that the video featured all their videos since the Pablo Honey, so i didn`t think twice and bought it almost immediately, about the CD, actually i am not interested.

Radiohead may be one of the bads that cause more debate in this site regarding their place here in a progressive rock site, it has been discussed time and again so i wouldn`t like to do it again. The fact is, that Radiohead being a popular band, which as usually happens with popular bands have lovers and haters, during their brilliant career have filmed several videos, some of them are pretty good, some others hardly unforgettable, but i believe its nice for a BIG band like this to release a DVD featuring all their videos, this actually shouldn`t have the name of best of, since there are no other official videos besides the ones on this DVD.

I, being a follower of their music and a man who has lived several experiences due to their sound, am happy with this release, being honest i wont watch it that often, i prefer watching concerts rather than videos, but its always pleasant to see a video of one of your favourite bands.

The DVD features 21 Videos and can be watched chronologically, from that classic rock/pop song called Creep, to one of the new favourite 2+2=5. There are no videos from the Kid A era, and of course dont expect to see something from In Rainbows.

My favourites: High and Dry, Just, Street Spirit, Knives Out and There There A surprise: i didn`t know there was a video from the old Pop is Dead

Highly recommendable for Radiohead fans, just nice and recommendable for any prog fan who is not a Radiohead hater nor narrow minded.

Enjoy it!

3 stars Most of the works, visually speaking, of Radiohead are a good sight for the young generations of film fans. Them clips are, mostly for the directors, a great conceptions of image that mix with the music of the band. This compilation is most for fanatic guys of visual aspects, fans of directors like Spike Jonze, Jonathan Glazer, etc., for get them works. Musically, Radiohed make a compilation of this videos with the label of The Best for get two markets, a cd with the same song list (and a double collector´s edition with extra material) and this dvd that I said, is more for fans of visual aspects, that for the fans of the band.

3 stars The best of Radiohead or merely the last that their old record company will be able to put out? I wouldn't mess with the CD, of course, but this is only way to get these videos other than 7 Television Commercials. All of those videos there are also here, but what I really wanted to get it for was the videos for Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief. Though titled The Best Of, it's basically a collection of all the videos they put out before making break with the record company. I could do without the Pablo Honey vids, which weren't present on 7TC. They weren't particularly inventive with those anyway. Still a nice collection of songs and indeed some of the best.

They really did start getting more creative starting with The Bends videos, quite likely due to having more funds thanks to the commercial success of the first album. They must have decided to take a break from doing videos for the Kid A album, there's nothing from that here nor have I been able to find out about the existence of any internet searching. They did come back to do four for Amnesiac and three for Hail. There's also a live version of 2+2=5, so maybe their old record company isn't through with them yet. If they put out that whole concert on DVD, I'd certainly go for it. This one probably could have been a better package had the band been involved, oh well.
