THE SIGN OF TOMORROW

Excellent one shot band and album released in 2003. The album, Sign of tomorrow shows a solid musicianship and a very strong and awesome arrangements in prog metal field. On the album features some well known musicians from prog metal scene, 3 ex - members from Eternity X fame and the vocalist from Seven Witches, a power metal band that has some years in metal zone. The music is very fluent and well written, and leaves no complains about their skills. The band is surely influenced by Fates Warning, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater in places but as whole is not a copy, not by far, it's an awesome prog metal album that needs much more attention than is seen today. All the peaces are above average prog metal ones, with nice time signatures, solid combinations between smooth and heavy interplays, great guitar riffs and amazing prestation on keyoards of Jamie Mazur, not forget, the drumer Jimmy Peruta is a real capable one delivering some very intresting and odd beats, excellent. The voice of Bobby Lucas remainds me sometimes of Ray Alder from Fates Warning and sometimes of Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden, but he has is own range and grace. In the end the best peaces are to me: opening track Before the End of Time - from here you can see the direction band take for the next 45 minutes, Dark Horizon, the slow one - Shattered Memories (here the vocal parts sometimes is one on one with Ozzy Osbourne's voice) and the last track Voices in the night, the rest are also good. All in all an underrated album in my opinion, who desearve much better view by any prog metal listner. 4 stars for The sign of tomorrow, recommended for Eniac Requiem, Pagan's Mind, Shadow Gallery kind of music.

The only Exhibition album represents a bit slower Iron Maiden clone. Vocals are heavily copied from Bruce Dickinson, however the music is a bit different. Whenever little slower, music is a mix of parts taken from Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and some other influences.

Technically quite competent, but absolutely faceless, this work could be interesting possibly for die hard Iron Maiden fans, collecting all possible tribute bands' recordings.
