WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN

Windmills by the Ocean should first and foremost be labeled as a drone album, not a post-metal one. There is some post-metal influence (the guitars are distorted), but it never is very heavy. Basically, the album is just boring, and I fail to see what's progressive about it. Perhaps if someone is into drone metal, he would like this album, but I really can't recommend it. The tracks which flow together never actually build up to anything or change pace. They simply play the same distorted chords slowly over and over again. There are some ambient vocals, but they don't add much. Not really necessary for a prog fan.
