3 stars Earth is a prolific, powerfully massive-krauty-doom rockin band whose music is in the vein of Boris, SUNNO))) but less metallic and less noisy. Their musical signature is focused on tripped out lenghty dronescapes. This album doesn't really differ from previous efforts but I would like to say that is probably the most creepy one. Each track is built on slow moving minimal guitar textures, ultra-minimal patterns with a constant immersion into dark, grandiose, spacious landscape. The ambience is utterly dark, monolithic, depressive and nightmarish. Hibernaculum is a furious blackened doom rock album with discreet influences from the ritualistic austerity of old hypno-krautrockin' bands as Paternoster (...) My favourite from Earth with the funereal-cinematic-western like The Bees Made Made Honey in The Lion Skull. Neophyts should start with the more melodious and gorgeously epic Hex.
